Discord Image Resizer
Batch resize images for Discord. Drop several images at once, pick a preset and download them all. Free, no login required, and the images never leave your browser.
Discord image sizes and file-size limits
Each preset crops the image to its shape and scales it to exactly the size below. Next to each size are Discord's file-size limit and the formats it takes for that kind of image:
- Custom Emoji - 128x128 pixels, up to 256 KB; Discord takes PNG, JPEG, GIF and WebP
- Sticker - 320x320 pixels, up to 512 KB; Discord takes PNG, APNG and GIF, not WebP
- Server Icon - 512x512 pixels, no file-size limit listed; Discord takes PNG, JPEG and GIF; previewed as a circle
- Profile Picture - 512x512 pixels, up to 8 MB; Discord takes PNG, JPEG and GIF; previewed as a circle
- Role Icon - 64x64 pixels, up to 250 KB; Discord takes PNG and JPEG, and the server needs Boost Level 2
- Server Banner - 960x540 pixels, up to 10 MB; Discord takes PNG and JPEG, and the server needs Boost Level 2
How to use the Discord Image Resizer
- Drop an image onto the dashed box, click the box to choose a file, or paste an image from the clipboard.
- Pick a preset under Resize Preset.
- Under Source, a frame marks the part of the image that is kept; it starts in the middle. Drag a corner of the frame to resize it, or drag inside it to move it; this works with a mouse and with a finger.
- For Custom Emoji, Output Format also offers WebP, but only in browsers that can write WebP; otherwise, and for every other type, the file is written as PNG.
- Compare Output size with Discord limit, then click the download button below them.
Resizing several images at once
Drop several images onto the box, or choose several in the file picker, and the tool resizes all of them with the selected preset and format and lists them under Batch Results. Each image is cropped from the middle; to choose the crop yourself, resize one image at a time. Download All starts one download per finished image, each file named after the original with the size added, such as photo_128x128.png. Changing the preset or the format resizes every image again.
Tips for sharp Discord emojis
Start with an image of at least 128x128 pixels: the tool scales a larger image down smoothly, while a smaller one is scaled up and looks blurry. PNG and WebP both keep a transparent background, which suits an emoji in a chat message. Emojis appear small in messages, as the How it looks in chat preview of the Custom Emoji preset shows, so simple shapes with clear outlines work best.
What the tool does with your images
- Still images only. An animated GIF comes out as a single still frame.
- PNG, and WebP for emoji. PNG keeps every pixel exactly. WebP from this tool is compressed with a small loss of quality, and the file is usually smaller. WebP is offered only for Custom Emoji, where Discord takes it, and only in browsers that can write WebP; otherwise, and for every other type, the file is written as PNG.
- The images stay in your browser. The tool resizes them on the page and does not upload them anywhere.
